The short version

SoloDeck is built to keep your data on your device. Your wallet addresses, rigs, node details and settings are stored locally. We don't use third-party trackers, and we don't sell anything about you. The only data that leaves your device is what's needed to fetch public pool stats and to deliver the push alerts you choose to turn on.

1. Who we are

SoloDeck ("SoloDeck", "we", "us") is a home-mining monitoring app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, with Android planned for the future. This policy explains what data the app and its services handle and why. Questions: support@solodeck.app.

2. Data stored on your device

Most of what you put into SoloDeck never leaves your device. The following is stored locally in the app's own storage and is removed when you delete the data in-app or uninstall the app:

  • The wallet addresses and pools you choose to monitor, and any labels you give them.
  • Your mining hardware: local network addresses, device names, the hardware (MAC) address a miner reports, and any credentials you enter to read from or control them. The MAC address is how the app recognises a miner that has moved to a new network address, so it can find it again on your network and keep its history.
  • Your preferences: theme, units, currency, electricity rate, and notification settings.
  • Readings the app has recorded from your miners, pools and node over time, used to draw the charts.

We never receive a copy of your hardware credentials. Communication with your miners happens directly between your device and your miners over your own local network.

Your Bitcoin node

If you connect the My Bitcoin Node tab to a node of your own, the app stores the network addresses of that node and of your self-hosted pool, along with the RPC username. The RPC password is held in the iOS keychain rather than in the app's own storage. The app reads your node and your pool directly over your own network, and no part of that tab contacts our servers. We never see any of it.

Smart plugs

If you add a smart plug to measure what your rigs draw, the app stores that plug's address on your local network, which of your miners you said sit behind it, and the readings taken from it, which are what the running cost and its history are drawn from. If the plug is read through a Home Assistant server of your own, the app also stores that server's address and the names of the two sensors you picked from it, and the Home Assistant access token is held in the iOS keychain rather than in the app's own storage. Plugs are read directly over your own network. If you power cycle a rig through a Shelly or Tasmota plug, the app sends that plug one command over your network: switch off, then back on after 10 seconds. None of it reaches our servers.

Files you export

SoloDeck can write five kinds of file: a backup of your setup, your recorded chart history, a miner's log, a miner's readings, and a share card picture. Each one is written only when you ask for it and handed straight to the iOS share sheet, so where it goes is your choice. We only receive one if you send it to us yourself. A backup contains your wallets, rigs and settings, but no passwords, no node credentials and no subscription status. A miner's log has your payout address removed before the file is written.

A miner's readings are what you send us when SoloDeck doesn't know a miner yet, or gets its name or a stat wrong. The app asks the miner what it knows, only reading and never changing its settings, then takes out wallet addresses, passwords, Wi-Fi names, serial numbers, MAC and IP addresses and email addresses before the file is written. Nothing is uploaded by the app.

A share card is a picture of a best share or a found block, made on your device when you tap Share. It shows no wallet address, worker name or IP address. If you choose Save Image in the share sheet, iOS asks whether SoloDeck may add the picture to your Photos. That permission only lets the app add pictures; it can't see your library.

3. Data sent to third parties as you use the app

Mining pools

To show your stats, the app queries the public APIs of the pools you add, using the wallet address you entered. This is the same public data anyone can read for that address on that pool. We don't add any identifier of you to these requests.

Price data

Coin prices and 24-hour charts are fetched from CoinGecko. These requests contain no personal data, only the coins being priced.

Firmware updates

To see whether a miner running the NerdQAxe firmware has an update, the app reads that firmware's public list of releases on GitHub. The request contains no personal data. Other miners check for updates themselves, and every miner downloads its own update.

4. Push notifications (only if you enable them)

Push alerts are off until you turn them on. If you enable them, your device registers with our notification service so it can watch your pools for you while the app is closed and send alerts (best share, block found, and, on the paid tier, worker offline and online). To do that, our server stores:

  • Your device's push token (issued by Apple Push Notification service, or the equivalent on Android).
  • The pools and wallet addresses you've chosen to monitor, plus any labels and your notification settings.
  • An anonymous subscription identifier (see section 5), used only to know which alert tier to deliver.

This data is held only to operate the alerts. It is associated with your push token, not with your name, email, or account; SoloDeck has no login. Turning notifications off, or uninstalling the app, ends the registration and the record is dropped. The notification service runs on Vercel with storage on Upstash.

5. Subscriptions and payments

The optional Premium subscription is handled by the Apple App Store (and, in future, Google Play) together with RevenueCat, which manages entitlements. Your payment details go to the app store, not to SoloDeck; we never see your card number. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous user identifier so the app and notification service can tell whether your Premium features are active.

6. What we don't do

  • No third-party ad networks or tracking-based ad targeting.
  • No third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or behavioural profiling.
  • No selling, renting, or sharing of your data for marketing.
  • No account, no email signup, no contact list access.

7. Data retention

On-device data persists until you remove it in the app or uninstall. Notification registration data is kept only while notifications are active for your device and is removed after your device stops registering. Donations are made on-chain and are public by the nature of the blockchain; SoloDeck does not collect anything about donors.

8. Your choices

  • Remove a monitored wallet or device at any time to delete its data from the app.
  • Turn notifications off to end server-side registration.
  • Uninstall the app to clear all locally stored data and end notification registration.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.

If you'd like us to confirm or delete any notification data tied to your device, email support@solodeck.app and we'll help.

9. Children

SoloDeck is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
